You wake up. You have 30-minutes until your first morning meeting. You already feel FRAZZLED and the day hasn’t even started!

The first thing I do in the morning is probably look at my phone, calculate all the bills I need to pay, think of all the item’s I have yet to do on my checklist, organize my filing cabinet, and oh! I forgot to pull the clothes out of the washing machine last night…
Like who out there feels me on that?! When you wake up and your mind is just RACING and always set your alarm for 30-minutes before your first meeting. Yes, because I want to get the most sleep possible. Plus, I’m not hungry because who needs to eat, that’s what the afternoon is for!
Alrighty friends. With love I say this, that is just all setting yourself up for a hot mess of day [and my day does turn a little messy with that]. My heart is racing just at the thought of it!
First, give yourself a SOLID hour before your first real task in the day. If you need a little more umf, schedule 90-minutes. Wake up and do something that eases you into your day and gives you plenty of time to organize your tasks for the day, and EAT breakfast. I will mention, your morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. Do you wake up and watch news with all the horrible things going on in the world? Do you notice that it actually affects the way you think? How about missing breakfast and when 12 PM hits and you are hungry, slugglish and lack any energy to get you through the rest of the day.
I want you to do these two things when you give yourself 60-minutes to get ready.
One: Select a 5-minute activity right when you wake up that adds positivity to your day and set’s your mind right. I personally read a devotion and listen to classical music on my way to work and I’m in such a wonderful mood just about every morning!
Two: Put together a breakfast, no matter how small to keep you fueled until lunch time. You want to try and prevent a splurge of random food throughout the day that is typically calorically dense, not filling and doesn’t provide quality nutrient dense calories. Sometimes I’m not really hungry in the morning and just want something cool and light, just like my smoothie!
My husband really got me on a smoothie kick and want to share with you exactly what we put in it!
*You can use a blender to blend the following ingredients and you can substitute the liquids for what you can best tolerate. Also, you can blend the granola in OR add it on top if you want a crunch*
1/2 cup Plain Kefir
3/4 Cup Vanilla Soy Milk
1/4-1/2 cup, filtered water
4 Frozen Strawberries
3/4 Cup Frozen Blueberries
1/2 Ripe Banana
Pinch of Cinnamon
Handful of Spinach/Dark Leafy Greens (Optional)
1/2 cup granola
I’d LOVE to know in the comments how you felt after having a smoothie?
